Eagle Pack...
I just bought Annies 1st bag of Eagle Pack...I went with the Natural Formula (Purple Bag) Sure hoping that she likes it, after all the research I have put into it!!!
I was just wondering, what are the chances of her getting an upset tummy from this? I am switching from Eukanuba Lamb & Rice Puppy formula. Will the extra nutrients in this good food cause tummy upset? |

The first 5 ingredients in the Natural Formula are
1)Lamb MEal 2)Ground Brown Rice 3)Ground Yellow Corn 3)Oatmeal 4)Chicken Meal 5)Dried Beet Pulp I was a little concerned with the fact that Corn is in there, however after reading on their website about their ingredients, and why they use them, I am no longer concerned. As well, after reading their testimonials I was impressed! If you are looking for a formula without Corn, their Holistics line would be a good choice, I think. I was planning on going with the holistic Chicken, but it is not available in my town (unfortunately covenience must win sometimes!!) Apparently the Natural formula was the next closest to the holistic. Anyway, if you want more info, the website is eaglepack.com. |

Eagle pack holistic is a much higher quality food. To switch over do it slowly at first I usually go with 2 parts old food and 1 part new food I do this for about 4 days or if they have a loose stool a little longer till it is firmer. I then go to 1/2 and 1/2 for about the same amount of time then do the final switch. Every dog is different so gauge it according to their stool, if when you do the second switch and there stool is too runny cut back on the new food a little. Once you start switching you will get a better idea and most dogs will have a softer stool then usual but it will be worth it. Eukanuba has way to many fillers in it so the new food will seem much richer and might give them a bit of the runs. You will also find with a highter quality food you don't need to feed them as much. Good luck
