Cockatiel company for my budgie?

Hello I have a year old female budgie. I am really interested in purchasing a cockatiel. I would keep the cockatiel in a separate cage close to my budgie. I have heard female budgies are pretty aggressive when it comes to other birds is this true? Would my budgie be okay with a cockatiel in a separate cage (I don't want her to be angry with cockatiel through bars)? What gender cockatiel would be best? Thanks for your help

We have two female budgies as well as a male budgie, a male lovebird and a male cockatiel.

One of our female budgies ignores Donald, our tiel, while our other female, Gloria, loves him to pieces! Donald is the one doing the ignoring in her case.

He'll bluster her away from him by snapping into the air, but he would never dream of hurting her or any of our other birds.

As long as he has DH, Donald is happy.

Please let us know if you decide to adopt a tiel, and if you do, how everything goes for you and your budgie.
