Opinions on using online sources for pet medications
I was wanting opinions on ordering a dietary supplement from one of the online pharmacies. Are these reputable sources? I've done some research and am getting conflicting reviews.
The item in question is Denamarin, a liver support supplement. It does not seem to require a prescription (but I have one). My monthly cost from the specialty clinic is $78; from my family vet it is $57. I can get the medication online from between $35 to $45 per month. The medication is supplied in three blister pack strips, so it would be obvious if the medication was tampered with. I'm looking at long-term use for the medicine. I've had huge vet expenses recently, so the savings would really help, but I do not want to compromise my dog's health. I'm in the U.S. if it matters. |

Have you called a pharmacy ? Sometimes they do carry those type of meds and they are a lot cheaper there !

Frenchy - great advice. Local pharmacies often have great prices and do not come with the risks of on line companies.

Thank you for your replies. I have a compounding pharmacy that is near my house. The staff here tends to be willing to work with pet owners to compound and flavor medications and keeps products like pill pockets in stock. I didn't even think of them. Thanks again.
