Hunting dogs from france?

I saw this cute little puppy, I wanted to know what breed it was so i asked, well the girl didn't know the name of the breed in english but it sounded like it had Griffin in the name but i am not sure, the girl barely spoke english. She said the breed is a popular dog in france, the puppy looked like german wired hair pointer. Is there other hunting dogs that look similar? At first i thought it had a cropped tail but i am not sure because it was dark and i was in the car. Any info would be great.

The only one I know that sounds like that is Brussels Griffon and it certainly does not look like a GSP...

There is the Wire Haired Pointing Griffon, which is a hunting dog, about 50lbs or so.

I was just wondering, it was a very cute puppy not as cute as a St bernard puppy. But since I don't speak enough french i will never know what breed it is. We live in a really small town so i will probably see her again, hopefully with my bf who speaks french.
