Puppy Mill Busted in NB
I just hope - after being through what they've already experienced - these puppies find homes NOT as Christmas gifts!!
Times & Transcript | Provincial News As published on page A3 on December 23, 2004 Homes offered for puppy mill victims SPCA flooded with calls for dogs seized in Edmundston FREDERICTON (CP) - The phones at New Brunswick SPCA offices were ringing off the hook yesterday as people tried to adopt the 65 puppies seized in a raid at a puppy mill. The raid was conducted at a house in Edmundston on Monday. The Fredericton SPCA was caring for 12 of the rescued puppies and had already had 20 people fill out applications to adopt them. Rick Kelly, an animal control officer who took part in the rescue, said many of the dogs were in rough shape from living in unsanitary conditions. Kelly said he could smell the dogs before he even got inside the house. "On arrival into the residence, there was feces and dog urine all over the floor, with the heat on, it was very unhealthy," he said. |
