Can I reverse the order of posts in a thread?

I need help.... I posted a thread in the general pet forum called "Eagle-Pack food = gas?" and when I came back to check it, there was LOTS of posts. Problem is, it takes me 10 minutes to get to the most recent posts, the ones I haven't read yet, because I have to click on the "more posts below current depth" scroll back up the screen, do it again and again and again. So I'm either *very* consfused about what the meaning of "threaded" or "linear" posts are, or they're just not making sense to me. Regardless, is there a way that you can make them so that I can choose to sort them another way; say by date posted (either up or down) rather than having to choose one of the 3 sorting methods now there?

Or if there was a "jump to post#" selector (and a tally of how many posts were in each thread) then I could just type in that I want to see Post # 12, which is the only response that has come in since my last post (#11) and then I wouldn't have to fight the system so much. Am I making any sense?

Also if someone could post a sticky note somewhere that explains what a threaded post vs linear vs hybrid post would look/act like, that might help, too.

Thanks!
Melissa
