Miniature Daschund really miniature???

Hello, I recently purchased a daschund. I was told he was a miniature. He is now 3 and a half months old and weighs 8.2 lbs. I did not have to opportunity to view the parents, but I'm assuming here that he is not, in fact, a miniature but a standard sized daschund. I was wondering if anyone know how much a mini daschund OR a standard daschund should weigh at 3.5 months. Thanks so much for any help!!!

Nicole.

I don't know the weight/height for 3.5 months but here is the AKC weight/height for 12 months

Standard: Height 8-11 inches (20-27cm.) measured from the floor to the shoulders; Weight- over 11 pounds (4.9kg.) ideally upto max 15lbs at the age of 12 months.

Miniature: Height up to 5-7 inches (13-18 cm.) measured from the floor to the shoulders; Weight 11 pounds (4.9kg.) or less at the age of 12 months.

If the OP didn't get to view the parents, I can guarantee there are no papers.

then Bendyfoot , I think you'll agree with me that god knows how large the dog will grow, or what "breed" of dog it will end up looking like *G* I've seen many purebred daschund petstore pups with the longest legs!!!! .
