Question Feeding after teeth removed..HELP

Ok, Sasha is home again, I mixed her meds with her food with water and made it almost watery, she is having a difficult time with eating. The 2 teeth she had removed were on the upper front incisors 201 & 202. she tried to eat and seems to have a lot of pain. I tried to feed her with a dropper into the side of her mouth and still having trouble.

How do I feed her? Should I just give her the meds again and leave this food for the morning??

WIll she lick it if you make it like water? Poor girl? I woould think if she is on pain meds you likely need to get something into her...do you have a turkey baster? its a bit larger and you may be able to get it in her mouth easier? Not sure what else to try especially if she cant really chew?

Sending her hugs! your likely in for a long nite...

Thanks Winston, if I use a turkey baster would she maybe inhale it instead? that is what is worrying me too.

It is very watery I even blended it and the licking thing is bothering her. She really wants to eat but not having any luck yet

Poor Sasha! I hope she feels better soon! Are there stitches involved, or no? (If so, this could certainly be making things even more difficult than normal.)

Have you tried to hand feed?

I was thinking with the baster you may be able to get in her mouth easier than with your hands and then just release it nice and slow..maybe she will be able to just sort of swallow it?? how often are the meds? cause maybe she will just sleep for a bit and then maybe after that it will not be as sore? maybe she can curl up with her mom and have a snooze and sleep off some of the pain....poor girl.

I think I just had an moment, I just tasted her food and it tastes like medicine of course she wont want to eat it... so now I will try to dilute it with some pumpkin and hope this may help. Keep your fingerscrossed, I think that i will give her her meds and let her go to sleep throw this batch of food out and try again.

Thank you all. patti

Absolutley! Just arrived this afternoon (I hate that drive!). I will call you tomorrow around noon to discuss time/location. If you have any suggestions to a quieter area on the south end that is easy access for you and Sasha let me know.
