Worried about big time stress for Oscar - holistic solutions?

So in the past months (as some of you know from my previous posts), we've been dealing with bad asthma and bladder stones for poor Oscar. From all my reading online, a lot of these problems can be exacerbated by stress. At the moment, we seem to have things under control but a very stressful event is about to occur and I'm worried about how he'll react if I can't take some preventative steps now.

In a few weeks, my best friend's house will be put up for auction :sadshe lost her job and made her last mortgage payment in January so we knew it was coming). She'll be moving in with me and her two and three will be coming along.

Now, I know how to do the introduction, but this has got to be very stressful for him (not to mention the other cats). Does anyone have any suggestions for some holistic options that I can offer my cats to start calming them before bringing in the new members of the household? I've found a site called Spirit Essences which seems to have some options... Does anyone have any experience with their products?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm worried about all the cats but with Oscar's health over the past few months, I'm absolutely terrified about him!

Good golly, that's a lot on your plate! And Oscar's. The Spirit Essences are an excellent product and would certainly do no harm. You might have to try a few different varieties and tailor their use to each pet. Some of the ones that could be useful in your situation are "Changing Times", "Peacemaker", "Safe Space for Cats" and/or "Stress Stopper". Oscar might also benefit from some "Easy Breather" or "Healthy Helper".

Another product I think can work well for cats in stressful circumstances is Feliway. A couple of diffusers in the main rooms that the cats hang out in, and perhaps some Feliway spray on their bedding a few times a day until they adapt.

Good luck!

Thanks so much SCM! It's going to be quite a full house even if everyone does get along! I'm going to need all the help I can get.

I ordered Peacemaker and Changing Times to add to the water dish (for all the cats) and Easy Breather for Oscar! He's been doing well but every little bit helps!
