Rabies

the one thing folks never want to hear....

our neighbors dog killed a raccoon that attacked them. found out it was late stage rabies. there have been 2 other cases within a half mile of the house.

we've decided to go get the vaccination ourselves. Chris will be calling the doctor tomorrow morning.

*sigh*

we have the pets vaccinations coming a month early... they are all going in over the next two weeks.

*bigger sigh*

i really miss being able to go outside with the kids to play. going to the park just isnt the same as watching them(Cailyn anyway) from the kitchen window.

Rabies is something not to be taken lightly. Is your neighbours dog going to be okay or does he have to go into quarantine.
Scary for sure considering how many raccoons can live in a small area, could be more around. Not a nice way to end the summer.

oh no, i hope the racoon didn't break the skin on your neighbours dog.
As for you guys, i hope they've changed the shots for humans from years ago, if not be prepared they hurt...they used to give them to you in your stomache...

naah, all the pets here are up on their shots. my neighbor had to go through the shots because she 'came in contact' although wasnt bitten. the dogs were but they just got the vaccine/booster again. apparently the guy across the street was actually bitten but he bashed the poor thing to death.

we are still tossing around getting the vaccination for us... not really heard an opinion either way. should be calling the doc tomorrow about it. last few days have been pretty busy.
