What is a GSD-- forgiveme I am a newcomer

I am a new pet owner and love this website. So I am always perusing the posts. I have read a few hoping to figure out what a GSD is but have had no success.

Yep... And BMD is Bernese mountain dog. GSP is german shorthaired pointer... BSL is "Breed Specific Legislation" (meaning breed bans). BYB is back yard breeder...

They posted a list of the general ones too: http://www.pets.ca/forum/showthread.php?t=18929

BC is Border Collie So I have a BC/GSD who was probably the product of a BYB and we just might be facing BLS some day.
