Talking Another round of "guess the breed"

Hey all,

I'm curious what y'all think about our gal Gracie...

we think she's a terrier/colie/husky X..

Check out the beard, the wiry kinky fur, and that crazy curlie-cue tail!

What do you think?

I see the Terrier and Collie but I would have guessed Chow on the tail and to some extent the colouring.

IMO she looks like a Belgian Shepherd Laekenois, tho not as popular as the other 3 types of BS

I don't see husky or collie possibly terrier but still think she's Belgian Shepherd Laekenois

I have "The legacy of the Dog" by Yamazaki Kojima breed info book, the pic in there the tail looks half way between Gracies' and the dog on the site:

http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/belgianlaekenois.htm

However with the tail issue the dogs in my book & on the site are all up to breed standard so the fact that Gracies' tail doesn't quite look the same doesn't mean she isn't a purebred Laekenois, ie my sister's PB AmerCocker looks nothing like MafiaPrincess' PB show-quality Cocker.

Wow ~ I can see the resemblance Growler. I've never heard of that breed ! But that curly tail is so peculiar to specific breeds.

The Tervuren & Malinois are more popular, Groenendael & Laekenois are the two lesser known. I think they still count all four as sub groups of Belgian Shepherds though there was some talk of separating into four separate breeds. The curly tail explaination - I edited my original post.

I get your point ~ but I still think this dog is a mix. It's like errrr... recessive genes and dominant genes. There is some other mutt in this dog that brought out the wire hair/ double coat and the curly tail.

Wow, Growler, I've never heard of that breed, and I see a LOT of ressemblances there, especially with the coat. I'm sure she's a mutt, but this breed could definitely explain at least part of her...wow...

Wow, that's a tough one! I could see terrier and some northern dog, but I don't see Collie!

I'd say the tail is from one of the Spitz breeds for sure.
The wiry hair and beard make me think Terrier - maybe Irish Terrier.
The coat, ears and head make me think Laekenois too!

Maybe she is a Spiterrenois!!
