Visit by the Granfolks

Yin Yin met my parents who are here from Florida - they live in the Clearwater area - sort of news central of late - and they needed a change.

The 1st night, Yin Yin was a little stressed at two new ppl in the house- but she loved all the luggage - new places and things to explore and hide behind, lol My dad and her have bonded - he of the dozens of pix with a cat when he was 3 or 19 (his mother had that feral cat colony) - while at first I worried how he might react (since ever the farm boy, he also thinks pets should learn to do useful things, lol), I now worry he may take her to Florida, lol

My mother used to call my bunny "Snookums" and so she likes Yin Yin but has not yet bonded with her in the way may dad has. Of course, YY's breeder' hsuband loved her too so she takes to men so easily.

Anyway, this is life in the granparents visit the new grandkitten,

I don't know what it is with cats and men! My cat CJ is terrified of most people, but when I moved in with my boyfriend she acts like she has known him all of her life!

Same with Mookie. She's 18 or 19 yrs old and always has been anti-social. She was a look at her- don't touch her type of cat. She'd hiss and swipe at you if you pet her too much! She lived with my mom, they were going to have her pts(stupid reasons!) so I took her. She LOVES my fiance! She actually lays with him--this was a total shocker to me!

I'm sure YY will warm up to Grandma soon!

Copper's Mom, I've noticed that about cats and men too. My dad doesn't particularly like cats but every cat we've ever had LOVED my dad. They would harrass him until he'd finally give in and pet them or let them on his lap. He won't be mean to them, he'd just rather not mess with them. Haha. It's like they know and they have to break him.

Hubby would take a shower before coming to bed. Puss-Puss loved to lie on his chest with front paws stretched up around his neck and bury her face in his damp beard. Female cats are just sooooo female! They appreciate a good man!

Do your parents resent being called "grandparents" to animals? My dad finds it funny but his wife finds it absolutely disgusting to even think about being a grandmother to a nasty, dirty fur ball. (And they have a dog, too..) I still tell my doggies that she is Gramma. Heh heh.

When I say "Let's go to Grandma's house," my dog knows exactly where we are going! He freaks out with excitement. Needless to say I can't mention that word around him unless we are really going! LOL My mom LOVES being known as Copper's Grandma. She always talks about her Granddog and what a lovebug he is. Sometimes I think Copper loves his grandma mor than his momma!!

Aww! What an adorable granddog you ahve Chico! My parents love being grandparents to 2 dogs, 3 cats, a late bunny and two humans - one 6 and the other approaching 21! My beagle was their grand dog and my much missed bunny the grand bunny. YY is warming up to grandma - still runs to greet grandpa when he comes tho and he makes a bigger fuss of her too!

JR's do tend to have mega energy. My beagle also loved my dad - I recently found some pix of dad as a child with kittens and more kittens - will have to scan them. My mom is not as much an animal person tho very caring and I think our animals sense that! They do know she is the serious one and would help them tho. YY did follow her around when she was baking today, lol

Is that doggy porn? (mind out of the gutter) I wish my parents were that accepting. I never ever wanted kids until recently and I told them that was all they got, so if they wanted grandkids, they'd better start "pretending"...
