Hi guys. My cat, Nagini, is 3 years old and my partner and I are working on getting her healthier by switching her from a kibble-only diet to a fresh and canned food diet. We just started yesterday and have basically been mixing her lunch and dinner with canned food, her usual kibble, and some vitamins the vet gave us. For breakfast, she got her usual kibble.
Since changing her diet a bit, we haven't seen her poop at all. We're not 100% sure she hasn't, as we have 2 cats and one of them *did* poop (but you know how it's weird when you can sense which cat pooped after long enough of cleaning their litter?). She is urinating just fine, acting completely normal. In fact, I just played with her for 10 minutes during a break at work and she was very active, etc. Is there a point at which I should start to worry? Should I get some fiber supplements from the pet store to help her go? I don't want her to get constipated. I'm just not sure how often she should be going or when to worry. Thanks for the help! |

Someone once asked a similar question here when the kitty was changing diets as well... I found it researching about your question
http://www.pets.ca/forum/showthread.php?t=48660 And I know it wouldn't be unusual for your cat to change the frequency while adapting to a new kind of food. Also check on the appearance of the poop when she finally goes. Let's wait for some advice. People are always willing to help around here.

Thank you so much! Last night, she *finally* pooped! I was following her around like a weirdo all day waiting for it. I'm hoping that the advice from the post you linked is the same for her - feeding her better = less poop. She seems super happy with the change, so all is well.
Thanks again ![]() |
