Can I reverse the order of posts in a thread?

I need help.... I posted a thread in the general pet forum called "Eagle-Pack food = gas?" and when I came back to check it, there was LOTS of posts. Problem is, it takes me 10 minutes to get to the most recent posts, the ones I haven't read yet, because I have to click on the "more posts below current depth" scroll back up the screen, do it again and again and again. So I'm either *very* consfused about what the meaning of "threaded" or "linear" posts are, or they're just not making sense to me. Regardless, is there a way that you can make them so that I can choose to sort them another way; say by date posted (either up or down) rather than having to choose one of the 3 sorting methods now there?

Or if there was a "jump to post#" selector (and a tally of how many posts were in each thread) then I could just type in that I want to see Post # 12, which is the only response that has come in since my last post (#11) and then I wouldn't have to fight the system so much. Am I making any sense?

Also if someone could post a sticky note somewhere that explains what a threaded post vs linear vs hybrid post would look/act like, that might help, too.

Thanks!
Melissa

Switching to Linear mode will get rid of the "more posts below" message. You will have to scroll down to find where you left off but it is quicker than looking through the list.

I would like to know if I can pull a quote from another thread. I also haven't figured out how to quote several in the same post.

To quote several pieces from the same post you need to do some copy and pastes work. For example, if I want to quote the last two words in your quote above I would copy and paste them to a new line then either place the quote tags in manually ([*QUOTE] same post [*/Quote]) pls ignore the *'s as I had to include them to avoid getting a quote box) or at the top of the text box there is a thought bubble. If you highlite the piece of text you just pasted and click the bubble it will automatically put the quote tags around it.

the result is:

Quote:
same post
I'm not sure if you can do it directly from another thread, but you can use the same process of copying and pasteing (you can open multiple forum windows that will allow you to copy from a post into your text box)

Yes, and beside the first QUOTE, you just do this, for example, [ QUOTE=StaceyB (or whoever originally posted it) and then the closing bracket- I can't put it because then it won't show, with no spaces in between anything.
When you do it like this, you just copy/paste like Dogastrophe said, from any thread, and then just add the name after.
