Question Pregnant cat and due date

ok, it is mt first post so go easy on me. I know our cat is pregnant, it was confirmed by a vet. Backround we recently move to a new town, she got out and was gone for two days. I guess I should have maybe suspected but she wasn't showing any signs of being in heat. We moved jan 10 and she got out within that week or early the next week. By the time we suspect she was pregnant our kids also knew. I put her on kitten food and took her to the vet, he said he could feel 3-4 kittens, and usually when he confirms a pregnancy he feels round ball and these were kittens. Now here is my question, he said she would have them in 1-2 weeks, not more than 2. It has been 2 1/2 weeks and no kittens. She is still eating, and leaping over a baby gate to get to her food(keep baby out not making diffult for cat). She has become more social, sleeps where the kids play, she is having diffulty cleaning herself since she is so big. and tmi she is a pooping machine.
So was the vet off or should I be worried? She stay pretty close to me. I have been reading about what to expect and I don't want anything to go wrong. She is a really pretty cat and really good with the kids.

I can feel the kittens moving so they are ok.

Thanks

Christine

I would comment but out of fear of persecution I will refrain.

Good luck and I do hope the best outcome possible.

Sorry, I have no info for you, besides the fact that I really hope you're planning on spaying her immeadiately after she has her kittens.

I can't imagine that leaping over the baby gate could be particularly good for her if it's high. Is there anyway you could put the gate a little higher so she could go underneath?

That's really neat that you can feel the babies moving!

Spaying

Yes, I plan on spaying her, she is allergic to general sedation, so that is why we(vet and I ) didn't do a spay and abortion. Risk outweight benefits. I will have to take her to a vet that can do her spay with epidural or something like that. Thanks for the advice she is a wonderful cat, she had problems when we adopted her. Thanks to a caring vet and lots of $$ this pregnancy is the only issue we have now.

Oh Karin here's eye rolling to you. Good luck.

To my understanding, the normal justation of a cat is anywhere between 57-70 days as per THIS website. The link is http://www.pets.ca/articles/article-expecting.htm

If she got pregnant on Jan 10th, that makes March 18th 70 days.
So if it was the week after, she SHOULD have the kittens this week.
Give the vet another call and let him know that the kittens have not appeared yet, see what advice he has to give.
