Why? That's the only question that ran through my head when I heard about the "roodle". It's the latest in the long list of rediculous "designer" breeds. The roodle is a cross between - get this - a miniature poodle (not even a standard poodle) and a rottie. Honestly!! Why?!

Mom would almost have to be the rottie. Pups could get to be life threateningly big in a mini poodle.. but if you are creating a mixed breed mutt, you probably don't care..
Depending upon the female, some of them when in heat are more than accomadating to get down to the right level for a boy. |

Uuuugh . . . The people creating these "designer dogs" are jut plain stupid. There are enough Rotties and Poodles and Rottie and Poodle mixes in shelters. No need to create more.

The "original breeder" does use a male mini poodle and female rottie. I don't buy the reasoning behind any of these designer breeds. Even the labradoodle. Yes, I know the "original breeder" thought he was creating a guide dog for the blind that would be less likely to trigger an allergic reaction in the handlers. But why couldn't they just use a standard poodle? They are highly intelligent dogs. Couldn't they be trained as guide dogs as well? I just don't buy any of it.

Exactly - Standard Poodles were originally working dogs. All the Lab mixes (yes, even Labradoodles) I've known were shedders, often big time.

Don't shed their coats? Hah! Show me a Rottie or a Rottie mix that doesn't. They claim Labradoodles are nonallergenic yet one of the reason they get dumped so often is because of that BS.

That picture looks like a poorly bred Bouvier!
As a rottweiler enthusiast, you can guess what I think of this.

It gets better...
On the "Roodles" page: "They stand around 45cm high at the shoulder and have a stocky frame." 45cm is about 17 inches. I wonder what their definition of "around" is? "Give or take 10 inches either way?" Further down the same page, they have puppies for sale, from a mini poodle sire and a "mini roodle" dame. Hmmmm.... Mini roodle... I guess that means size is no guarantee then. Let's see, what else do you think might slip under their oh-so-careful-breeding radar? Coat, perhaps? Temperment, maybe? Ugh! Excuse me. I have to go publicly apologize to dog-kind for how badly the human race is screwing up their existence.
