No, not when you're talking about our nearly hairless bulldogs with their sparse single haircoats. A coat that covers as much as possible is a necessity in -25 degree weather.

raingirl, could you cut the strap off, sew or glue velcro tabs to it, put two more velcro tabs in a better position and attach the strap that way?

Chloe had the same problem. Any coat big enough in the chest for her (like a greyhound coat) was so long it went halfway to the ground over her butt! LOL! At least she didn't have the peepee problem.
