Impacted puppy teeth?
My little 11 month old Yorkie/Pom mix has a few impacted teeth. (i think thats what they'd be called).
Her fang-ish teeth on the bottom (both sides) are both baby & adult right next to each other, and on the top right, her baby fang tooth is behind her adult one. She doesnt seem bothered by this, but I'm not sure. . . Do I need to have them removed?? Thanks! (ps-- puppies should really come with manuals :) just like babies!) :) |
Most puppies loose all their puppy teeth by the age of 6 months.I suggest a visit to the vets. They may need to pull the milk teeth out.

extra teeth
Usually in the small breeds this is common. The vet normally extracts them during sterilisation as they are already under anesthetic.

Ahh... She was spayed at 5months, and these teeth didnt start coming in until just before 7 months. . . Guess I'll give the vet a call!
Thanks!! |
Ok I just called & she'll be having a dental & getting them pulled in a week and a half! Luckily it'll be less than $100... whew...
But now my little princess has to undergo anesthesia again... Poor baby. Maybe she'll be happier once they're out of the way though :) Thanks again everyone! |
When we took Sophie to be spayed our vet told us she would have to have some of her baby teeth pulled in Feb, He didn't want to do it when he spayed her as he said he could damage the enamel for her new teeth coming through. So she will also be heading back in Feb.

The procedure takes just few minutes. She will be less prone to dental problems in the future having the the teeth removed. |
