I don't understand why so many of us put ourselves in positions like this to deal with the sorrow, the guilt and the pain. Why?
Because if for only a short time, they deserve to know and feel love.

Bahh Chico2. I just wonder if I could have done better. Vet says no, but I really feel I was too late in getting her in. I only had her for 4 short days (including being at the vet days), but I did love her. I would wake up to check on her and at midnight when the air was cooler, we would go outside for long walks together. She followed me everywhere, caught some bugs, ate them, scratched her non existance nails on the concrete and give me those little headbutts. She won my heart.:(

I will miss her little funny face. She really was mine in the end I guess.

Thanks everyone.:pawprint:

BM, I'm so sorry for your loss of Olive.

You are a truly remarkable person for saving her life and to let her go in dignity.

:rip: Sweet Olive :candle:

It does not matter how long you have them. It matters only that you show them more love in a short time then they ever had before. That, mf, makes them yours. :grouphug:
Thank you all very much. It was a tough night. Interesting that I did not have her long but she will be very missed.

Funny how us animal lovers will embrace other's throw aways. Funny how we try our best to right a wrong while others do not give a damn as to what happens.

I am not feeling sorry for myself, but I am certainly very angry that this little girl who loved her people so much shut down like that as so many do. And not one phone call to ask how she is or if she was ever adopted. I don't understand people. I don't understand why so many of us put ourselves in positions like this to deal with the sorrow, the guilt and the pain. Why?

Sorry I am so sour. I am just heartbroken as I wanted so much for her to continue life's journey.

Because you have the fortitude to put into action to help these poor souls whose guardians are so busy in their selfish lives that they just don't give a darn about their pets.

Because you are somebody who can't just sit idly by while these poor animals are suffering.

Because you care  :grouphug:

14+ is right, it is not the quantity of time you spend with them, but the quality of time.

I really felt very close to her in that time. I wanted her to know that I loved her and without a word of a lie I really did. She was a very sweet soul L4H. She deserved so much better. Now she is at rest. I will miss her greatly and she will remain in my thoughts as they all do...but she has a very big part in that sorrow. I wish things were different.

This morning I accepted her fate. Though the last 2 days I wanted OUT of this rescue stuff, I got a call last night for help and even though I was trying to convince myself to take a break..I can't.

In memory of this little girl, I need to plug ahead I guess. Maybe this stuff is in our veins.

Thank you all for your wonderful loving words. There is no other support group like this, and it keeps me in line.:)

Personally, I suspect that this explains it best.

I think you are right RustyCat.:)

BenMax, thank you for caring. I know your heart is heavy, but know that Olive is patting butterflies at the bridge. :candle: Know that even if the time was brief, you made a difference in a sweet, gentle life.
