Kitten Development Stages – Pet Tip 249

When we bring a kitten home for the first time to adopt it as a pet, it should be between nine and twelve weeks old. This is so the kitten has a chance to spend time with its mother and so that the kitten becomes socialized with its littermates and learns proper kitten behaviour. But what happens before the kitten comes home? This article will outline some of the important milestones in kittenhood in an effort to familiarize you with some of the stages of kitten development.

Kittens are born blind and deaf and they remain that way for around the first fourteen days of their lives. They use their sense of smell to find their way toward their mothers for nourishment and heat. They really need to stay close to their mothers for these first few weeks as they are unable to regulate their own body temperature. The umbilical cord typically falls off after the first few days of life.

Sniffing
the competition.
Fanny is rambunctious,
and prefers to play with her Mommy.
Mommy shoots colorful material elastics randomly in to the air as Fanny
tries to
clamp them with her soft paws as she springs to catch them.
Fanny becomes
alert when Mommy makes the bed, she loves to dive underneath the sheets
to
hide and wait for our next game.
Fanny doesn't
like the rough stuff, when she's played with. She definitely prefers
a gentlemen, who'll know when enough
is enough. Horseplay for Fanny is a serious game , that comes with rules
on
where you can pat her delicate hips and such. She'll nip you very gently,
just
to say, 'please don't, or watch out.'
Fanny is so
sociable and friendly, and will quickly join in any ridiculous game
you invent. Catch me if you can, is
one, running from room to room, or hide and go-seek in the bathtub behind

the curtain. Fanny always comes when you call her. Fanny is certain
when she
arrives it will be for something positive, like a massage, or just
attention.
Every morning
Fanny peers out the patio door of the backyard,
patiently waiting for all the snow to melt , and the time when the weather

is warmer when she can play in the backyard.

One day, maybe
Fanny's dream will come true, when Daisy, the first born
sister will forever accept her in her household. Fanny would love it
if
Daisy would just cuddle up to her and sleep together in the same bed,
and
lick and groom her forever,so contentedly.
