Simon came to us by mistake...I almost ran him over at 2 in the morning one cold day in the dead of winter in Massachusetts while I was delivering newspapers. I tried unsuccessfully to find his owner, so he became ours. He was neutered and declawed when we got him.
We have a feeling that Simon might have been abused by his previous owners. He can't hear properly and sometimes walks into walls. He is the sweetest, fattest cat we've ever seen and is full of love =)
