Dogs in Mourning – Pet tip 246

Dogs are extremely sensitive animals and can feel many of the same emotions that humans feel. Although many seasoned dog owners already know this, newer dog owners are often surprised by the depth of some of the emotions that dogs can feel. We all know that dogs can be very happy creatures; their broad wagging tails give them away every time. But dogs are capable of feeling more complex emotions than just happiness. At the other end of the spectrum there is sadness and depression and dogs are capable of feeling these emotions. Perhaps there is no greater testament to this fact then when a dog’s owner or another dog from the household dies

In Memory of our Loving Pet, Maggie

Rescued by Ray from a very hostile environment, our little girl Maggie suffered from neglect, abuse and disease.  But, as if totally immune from the ailments that plagued her little body, Maggie was able to muster enough energy to bounce along beside us wherever we took her.  The gentle and loving look in her eyes always seemed to express an unconditional love for us...and we wanted her to know that we felt the same for her.  Her struggle to survive ended peacefully in the comfort of our loving home on the evening of May 4, 2005.  We will always love you, Maggie.  We could not have asked for a more loving and devoted dog.  Good-bye, sweetheart.
