Black Cats – Pet tip 170
You are walking down the street and a black cat crosses your path. What do you do? Whether you dismiss it or not, many people think of it as some kind of a bad omen. Black cats and bad luck is a superstition that has lived on even in modern society. Past events, and present misconceptions of these cats keep this unfortunate stereotype alive.
Black is a colour that often brings an emotional response. What do you think of when you imagine this colour? Night, darkness, boring, no colour, dark, evil, scary are all common (and generally negative) words to describe black. This negative connotation of the colour black also applies to black cats. The portrait of the black cat as an omen of bad luck began with accusations of witchcraft and witch-hunts many years ago. It was believed that black cats had magical powers that allowed them to transform themselves into witches.

I may be small, but I'm the boss of my house, no doubt about it. I keep an eye on everything Mom does and make sure she's doing it right! Plus, I always walk with a fabulous sense of purpose. Boy, can I make an entrance! I like to sleep right smack in the middle of the bed, so no one else can get in. But, I'll snuggle in if you're warm enough, and oh, I am so super cute! I make lots of noises everytime I change positions in bed, so that everyone will look at me and say "awwww." I love to chase my friend Belle around, pounce on her and cover her with my whole entire body! I play sort of rough, and Mom can't figure out how I don't get hurt, since I'm always flipping over or falling off of something! I spend a lot of time cleaning Belle, even though she finds this quite annoying. I like to clean Mom too - after all, you can never be toooo clean! I don't have time for all that hugging and snuggling that Mom likes to do. I've got places to go and things to do. But, anytime she wants me to give her a quick kiss, I oblige. I guess its ok, if it keeps her happy. Ok, I've gotta go make some more trouble!
