Dogs in Mourning – Pet tip 246
Dogs are extremely sensitive animals and can feel many of the same emotions that humans feel. Although many seasoned dog owners already know this, newer dog owners are often surprised by the depth of some of the emotions that dogs can feel. We all know that dogs can be very happy creatures; their broad wagging tails give them away every time. But dogs are capable of feeling more complex emotions than just happiness. At the other end of the spectrum there is sadness and depression and dogs are capable of feeling these emotions. Perhaps there is no greater testament to this fact then when a dog’s owner or another dog from the household dies

For six and a half years, you were the light of my life, my eyes and my best friend. Your loyal service and companionship will never be forgotten. You will be missed always by myself and those who loved you so much.
Asha you were my first guide dog and you brought so much to my life. You provided me with not only independence but also a wonderful companion. Everyday, you did something to make me laugh and you were always there to provide comfort in difficult times.
Unfortunately, the most difficult day was when you passed away from cancer. I loved you so much that I had to make that horrible decision to let you go so you would no longer suffer.
As the Rainbow Bridge says, you will wait for me on this side of heaven and one day we will walk the bridge together.
Until then my dearest Asha, please remember that I love you and I miss you every single day. You will live forever in my heart and mind.
