What is a Dog Whisperer – Pet tip 215

These days you hear a lot about the term ‘dog whisperer’ and most people associate the term with one particular dog trainer, Cesar Milan. Many people think that he created the term when in fact this is false. The term dog whisperer is actually a term borrowed from horse training, where certain trainers or horse whisperers seemed to be able to get horses to calm down and accept training or accept a rider on their backs. Their methods were often ‘quiet’ (as opposed to more traditional punitive techniques) to an observer as these trainers seemed to get results from quiet whispers. These days though, the term has been diluted and many people use the term loosely.

Xena was the most remarkable and beautiful dog in the entire world.  Her sudden death took us all by surprise and we know that she is in a better place, a place without suffering.  Xena was diagnosed on Saturday with cancer in her lung which was complicating her breathing.  Our veternarian was supportive but yet no treatment could be given to treat the tumor she had blocking her esophagus.  We had to make the decision to put her to sleep, and though it was the most difficult of the choices we have ever made, we believe it was a choice we made because we loved our pet more than anything in this world and we didn't want to see her suffer.  Even though it's painful for our family, we can have solace in the fact that Xena gave the best 8 years of her life to my husband and I, and our two children.  She will certainly be missed by my two children who always looked for her when they woke up in the morning.  Xena was never too tired to play with our children.  I know it's going to take time for our family to heal, however our memories and good times we had with her will help us deal with our loss.  What we remember most about our beautiful dog are the times when we took her to Pennsylvania and she swam in the lake, played with our children, or even simply her greeting us at the door.  How we will miss the times she waited for us to come home!  We will always keep you in our minds and hearts can never be replaced.  WE LOVE YOU DEARLY!
