Second reading of Bill 132
I just got word that the second reading of Bill 132 is scheduled for today! Dukieboy, keep your fingers on that keyboard, we would love to see the transcript of this.
Bryant and cronies seem to be ramming this through rather quickly. Anybody have any contacts out there so that we can find out when the third reading is before it happens?

It's actually been on the agenda since Friday. I think they put it on the agenda to be discussed, and leave it there until they get the opportunity. I know it showed up yesterday, but they didn't get to it.

Sure. It's on the agenda now. If you go here:
Ontario Legislature Agenda You'll see the agendas. It's shown up everyday since Friday (Bill 132) If you want to know what happened, go here: Official Report of Debates (Hansard) (Hope I didn't just destroy my usefullness! )

Here's the whole speech made by MB and the opposition in the last reading. There's a part that's actually quite funny - when one of the people gets called an idiot!! I laaaaaaughed!!

It doesn't appear as though it was read today. By the sounds of it (from a previous thread), it'll be Thursday.

My favourite bit was from a more recent transcript when the conservative opposition was questioning the liberal claims that all of their recent legislative activities somehow spawn from the conservative deficit left behind. He speculates whether the liberals are somehow referring to an unreported uprising by the gummi bears and their leader sugar bear raiding the corporate treasury. Very funny and nicely put to illustrate that the current bans are part of the liberal agenda and not tied to some sort of conservative failing. I'm no fan of the conservatives usually but as far as this goes I am rah rah all the way. Mel |

Yes, yes
The Legislature is open to the public but if you heckle, security will turf you. Might even bust you. If your t-shirt says anything political you will have to turn it inside out. Last edited by Dukieboy; November 4th, 2004 at 09:53 AM. Reason: more info |
