Sick dog

I have a sick St. Bernard. We came home and she had a swollen left eye. Now she is unable to chew or stick her tongue out. I took her to the vet and they did a x ray of her head and found nothing. Any clues..

Did the xrays include the teeth? An abcessed tooth might cause swelling of the face and the area around the eye.

Also, we had a past member who's dog developed Masticatory Myositis. I think the symptoms were at least somewhat similar to what your dog is presenting with.

I hope the vets find some answers and can start treatment soon! How long has she been sick?
