Intermittent loose stools / 8 week pup

I have an 8 week old puppy, Mastiff/Boxer ( 9 weeks this coming Wednesday ) that has intermittent loose stools. He is on the same food that his breeder gave him, which is the food his mother ate ( Infinia Chicken & Brown Rice ) he gets 1 cup 2x per day. We have had him for just over 2 weeks now. He has been wormed. Any ideas? He is going to his new vet this week

Brown rice has more fiber than white as it has fiber has not been removed. And that could be too much fiber for your puppy. A good quality white rice would be better for helping with the loose stools . You need to be sure your puppy is getting enough water as he is losing fluid with his looses stools . How is your puppy other wise, is his eyes are nose clear ? I would call the vet if your puppy has looses stools for more than 3 days. There could be health issues going on

His behavior is great. Playful and full of energy. The loose stools are infrequent, maybe every 3rd poop. He is drinking plenty of water. I am hesitant to wean him onto a different food as this is what his mother ate and the only good he's been on

We usually feed puppies at least 3 times a day. He might be taking in more food at once than his little body can handle. Try three meals a day. Same amount of food total, if that seems to be enough. Whether it helps the loose stool or not, 3 feedings a day at his age is recommended.
