Thumbs up Bragging rights !!!!

How smart is this ???

I woke up Sunday morning, usually I have the remote on the pillow next to me when I fall asleep ( always waking up in the middle of the night and turn TV on to watch it ) as soon as I move a hair, Kuma wakes up and comes and cuddles with me, well the remote fell off the bed between my dresser and the bed. I looked at Kuma and said " Can you get that for me ?" He jumped off the bed, went to the remote, and I can hear it clicking against his teeth, came around the bed and looked at me, where I gave him the command " UP " and he jumped on the bed, and I said " Give it to Mom " and he placed it in my hand, giving me loads of kisses ... he's 21 months old

I think this is a good lesson for him to learn because I live alone and anything could happen and i'm teaching him to get the cordless phone. Although he runs around with it... he's learning

Wow! Sounds like you've got the makings of an "assistance dog" there. Now you need a special jacket and maybe they'll let him in some of the stores with you. Worth a try!!!!

Update on Kuma
Now he retrieves the cordless phone for me ( which is a good thing )
I will sit on the couch and say " Kuma get the phone" he will go to the kitchen Island, move it off the base, and bring it to me...

Also i've taught him to growl on command. All I ask is " Kuma growl !" and he does, sometimes I will say louder and he growls louder...

Dang I did not think that an animal could be so smart.... Next the DISHES !!!

I'm still trying to get Mulan to make the coffee in the morning but I can't get her past the "Rush to the human's bed when the crate door opens" stage.

Man Terrie we are still working in stay and shake. LOL

Meat Loaf will not shake for the life of him. And than you have Charming, that is all he wants to do is shake. LOL Sounds like you have one smart baby. I wish we lived closer and we could sit a play date and maybe some of your babies good habbits would rub off on mine. But than again it could go the other way. LOL

Iggette I am so with you. Meat Loaf is catching on to the sitting thing, and take it easy but will not shake for the life of me. And than Charming has the sit and shake down but is having a hard time with the take it easy. They both have the lets go to bed thing. When we get ready to go to bed at night we say come on boys lets go to bed and here they come up the stairs. Now if we can get them to go on their bed instead of ours. When we tell them to go to bed they fly up the stairs and onto our bed they go and flop down like we will share no biggie mom and dad. LOL. Than when we put them in the cage we say lets go downstairs to the cage and down they go. So they have somethings down but not all things yet.

How much should they know for their age. They are both 8 mts old. I was just wondering like what commands they should know.
