Dog saves woman from attack with a hammer

This remarkable Great Dane saved his owner from her boyfriend who went after her with a hammer. The dog jumped on her to protect her taking most of the blows.

Brave woman to refuse to enter the home without her dog, pity someone hadn't done that a lot earlier, then, apart from all the woman who'd suffering being beaten, this poor dog mightn't have suffered these terrible injuries.
The refusal to take in pets just makes me see red. Reminds me of bushfire shelters here that were refusing to allow people to bring their pets in. They were putting people's lives at risk as some would not leave their animals.
