Curious Tail

My beautiful shelter cat, 2 yrs old, carries her tail at her side, curled like a C, it will straighten out when she sits or sleeps. Everyone asks me what happened, the vet says she just has extra flexibility and she is only the 3rd cat she has ever seen like this. Has anyone else seen this, is it normal?
