Probably Mexico. There are a few localized (and therefore vulnerable) sites where they gather for winter. In spring they migrate back up north to breed. There are some western populations that overwinter off the coast of CA.

It's still going on and it's now 3pm...I watch them with some sadness.
Sylvie, they are not in my backyard, just flying over.

Wow, ya got me there, chico! I'm still trying to figure out how first year hummingbirds make it across the Gulf of Mexico without adult guidance and without starving to death, considering they have to eat every 15 minutes or so Mother Nature has mysterious ways, but She always seems to provide...

Yes nature is a wonderful thing,I saw a few stragglers today, but not hundreds like yesterday..
I believe the Gracklers and Red Wings are already gone:-( I hate this time of year, everything is dying or leaving and we closed the pool

That's really neat Chico!! I think we still have the robins around. But the Blue Jays and Chickadees are moving in. Smart birds they know where to come in the winter! Also have seen more Magpies around. We have Ravens year round but the crows I think are still here.
