Nine times out of ten a dog gains weight because we feed it too much. I have always found my dogs' weights to fluctuate a bit depending on season and I might be feeding slightly more or less and not noticing.

Yep, like I said, after I thought about it, I'm very sure she's eating the rest of Luna's breakfast after we leave for work. Luna's been eating her food in blocks, she'll eat about half, and then the other half later, so that defnitely explains it!

We've changed the way they get fed now, so they have more supervision, so hopefully that helps out

We're going in for our check up blood test on Saturday, lets hope all is clear and normal.

We've gone through a full bag of the Duck formula Go! food and unfortunately due to the summer heat, I can't tell if it's helped her shedding or not! Luna, our other dog started shedding more in the heat as well. I'm thinking I'm going to go through another bag and if it hasn't slowed by then (near the end of the hotter days, hopefully), we'll switch it back to Orijen and see what happens.

She has slimmed down a slight amount since we've been monitoring her food intake better, but I'll have an accurate weight on her when we see the Vet.

So far none of these foods have worked: Go! Now! Senior and Weight management, Innova Evo Red Meat, GO! Duck Formula, and currently, Orijen 6 Fish:

What should I try next? I'm trying to think about anything in our house that's changed to cause this but I'm hard pressed to think of anything new!

I bought an aloe and oatmeal shampoo, it says it can be used up to once a week; should I try and see if it helps? but I know that washing away her natural oils could make things worse...

oi!

Oh yeah, her check up blood test came back normal, so she's all good there.
