Eleven puppies abandoned Ottawa

Eleven puppies abandoned near Canadian War Museum find shelter at Ottawa Humane Society
http://www.facebook.com/note.php?not...2661036&ref=mf

Staff at the Ottawa Humane Society are scrambling to find enough foster homes with its trained volunteers for eleven tiny, abandoned puppies, and in the meantime, are busy caring for them at the shelter.

The German Shepherd mix puppies, approximately six weeks old, were found in two small boxes near a dumpster last Wednesday during the worst snowstorm of the season. A Good Samaritan found them and brought them to the OHS. The puppies were examined by a veterinary technician and appear to be in good health. They will be placed in foster homes with trained OHS volunteers.

"It's very disturbing that someone would choose to abandon these tiny animals outdoors in a snowstorm, rather than bring them to the Ottawa Humane Society where we can give them a chance at finding a good home," says Bruce Roney, OHS Executive Director.

Each year, the OHS takes in thousands of stray or abandoned animals. Unfortunately, not all are discovered right away and in winter, they are at risk for frostbite, dehydration, exhaustion and worse if they are not rescued quickly. The OHS admits and cares for approximately 11,000 animals each year, in a shelter designed to accommodate 2,500.

I think they will find them, where they were found at the museum are a bank of camera's, we pulled into the exact same spot last fall on our motorcycle so I could use my phone, the minute i stepped off the bike we had a security guard outside with one in the back ground watching.
