tip for stressed out dogs and cats by thunderstorms

Melatonin has been proven to block the anxiety caused by thunderphobia and can be bought at any supermarket. The dosage is 3mg for small to large breed dogs, 6mg for giant breeds. It is SAFE with no side effects (it also helps kitties. The dosage is 1/4 a tablet an hour in advance of the noise).

Will it work for other anxieties too? I.e. seperation anxiety?

I am not sure I was thinking it would probably work because it calms the pet. Since it has no side effects I can't see the harm in trying it. Be vigilant of course I will try and find out more and let you know

Thanks mastifflover. I figured that if it has calming effect, it should work for other anxieties too. I may try it for my guy that has seperation anxiety. Let's keep in touch on this!
