Liver shunt in 5 yr old pappillion dog

anyone out there had a dog diagnosed with a liver shunt? My dog is 5 years old, turning 6 in November (pappillion). He started having seizures and we did the bile acid test and it has come back with high levels. We are getting an ultrasound later this week but I am so scared he has a liver shunt which is why he is having seizures. NOt sure why it has taken this many years to show up as usually liver shunts show up in younger dogs.

He shows no other signs of liver disease except he has been a very nervous dog since a puppy which maybe is caused because of his liver.

Any others out there going thru this. I am very scared........

I don't have any experience with liver shunts, socialmom, but wanted to send you a I know how scary it is to have a dog sick with something undiagnosed.

Best advice I can give is to wait till you find out exactly what you're dealing with and take it from there. Hope you get good results from the tests! When does he get his ultrasound done?
