Vets in Richmond BC

Hi, first time posting so sorry if I do something wrong.

Can I get some recommendations for good vets in Richmond, BC?
I called Island Veterinary Clinic and Garden City Veterinary Hospital today to ask about their prices and they were both higher than the vet I'm going to now (it's in Burnaby and I'm in Richmond). If anyone's been to these two places, are their prices normal? Though to be fair I could hardly get a price for anything from Island Vet so I don't have much to compare with. The phone call didn't leave me with very good vibes either.
Also both places said that if I went in to get shots or something a regular check-up wouldn't be included. I find that extremely odd as all the other vets I went to weren't like that.
If it makes any difference, I have a 7 year old sheltie and a 10 week old kitten.

Thanks!

It's been several years now but I used to go to Dr. Galloway at the Steveston Animal Hospital on #1 Road. I was always happy with him.
