Looking for special dog boarding in Ontario

Here's my situation:
I have a 6 year old Chesapeake Bay Retriever that was adopted about 2 years ago. He has had past issues with fear aggression towards people and other dogs. We have worked very hard at behaviour changes with him and haven't had an incident in over 1 and 1/2 years. But, he still requires to not meet strangers or other dogs (unless these people or dogs are going to be building a relationship with him, that we can do as a process)
I am going on vacation in October and need to find a good solution for where he will stay. Boarding kennels aren't ideal because he would have a lot of anxiety about hearing the other dogs bark all day, and he needs people more than they offer. But all the in-home boarding I've found will not take "aggresive dogs". It's almost like we need to find someone to come into our home for the time away, or we need to find a boarder that doesn't have other dogs at the time (other than their own that he can get to know), and will not be introducing him to other people.
Tall order I've got! Any suggestions?

There are some "home boarders" out there who offer private boarding and will take in special needs dogs, but they can be very hard to find. A live in pet sitter would be a good option but if he has aggression issues with people you better ensure that he will be comfortable with that person. A few mock visits prior to your vacation would be a good idea to make sure all goes smoothly. A kennel would be a safe option if you can find one that could house him away from the other dogs and noise, although I'm not sure how many offer that option.

Where in Ontario are you?

I live in southern Ontario. We haven't been able to find a kennel that would be able to keep him away from other dogs. And I don't really want him in a cage for a week or more, he does much better with people.
We have started looking so far in advance in hopes that he could build a relationship with someone before he stays, and we would be looking to do some trail visits to build his confidence that we would be coming back.

Do you not have a friend or family member that could come in and take care of him. Most kennels will not accept dogs that behavioural issues, due to the safety of the staff and the animals that are being housed there. What about your vets? Some vets will board their clients pets. I am sure they know about your dogs behaviour and will know how to react if anything occurs. Yes, he will be in a run for a week, but they are usually pretty good, with lots of attention, and walks through out the day.

I don't know where you are in Southern Ontario, but you might like to check this boarding facility out: http://www.petcottages.com/

Each animal has an individual cottage with window and music and their own individual outside enclosure. I have friends who have used their services and they highly recommend it.
