Thumbs up Simply Amazing!

I just posted this link in the TJTwitter but thought it was so cool that I wanted to post it also on the forum.

This is a website to a link were a camera is set up to view the birth of Bald Headed Eagles on Hornby Island in B.C. It's a real live feed (7/24) on the nest.

My MIL sent it to me this morning after she witnessed the birth of one of the eaglets. Two eggs are remaining. I got hooked and left it shrunk down on my computer while working but turned up the sound. This afternoon, I heard frantic "chirping" so I brought it back up and momma was feeding the little guy.

Truly amazing!

I've been watching the eagle cam off and on all day!! It's amazing how tender she is when she pulls off a small piece of fish to feed the baby! And how she first settles on the tiny chick and the other egg, then snugs up the nesting material to her body to make sure Baby is warm.

I quickly logged into the site today and saw both of them on the nest. On Friday, one flew into the nest with a fish and both of them were feeding the little gaffer. I guess the new little guy has been named Pheonix. I was reading the story about this webcam on the home page and apparently, these 2 eagles have fledged three healthy chicks since 2006 in this exact spot!

Haven't heard any news yet with the second egg and tonight looks a little windy on the mountain.
