Need some good vibes
Zoe has got something wrong with her, and the vets are currently trying to find out what is up. Don't know if it has anything to do with her eating those baby mice/moles (not to sure what she ate, but she ate some kind of baby something)
For almost two weeks now she has had diarrhea, some days really bad, then a solid poop, back to semi-liquid, then diarrhea again. Vet told me bland diet, she has been eating boiled chicken/hamburger and rice which she keeps down, but if she trys to eat anything else she vomits. She is still very active running around, walking, playing with the cat. She is drinking the same amount of water as usual. Just these poops.........so the vet hasn't been overly concerned. Just said to wait, sometimes it takes two to six weeks for the poops to clear up. Over the weekend, there was lots of mucus and a tiny bit of blood, so vet said first freshest fecal sample I could bring him Monday morning.....and another appt tomorrow at 10. Again he is not overly concerned because she is still eating and drinking and showing no signs of lethargy. Any ideas of what she could have? I am trying to stay positive because she is still doing what a normal dog does. It's going to be a long night until the vet and results from the fecal. And what a fecal sample it was, stunk the whole clinic up while I was waiting in line to drop it off.

When the snow thawed Chase and Kailey developed the exact same symptoms. They had explosive dhiarrhea but absolutely no other problems. Eating, drinking, playing.....they ate something nasty that the melting snow uncovered. It lasted about 16-18 days for both of them, then just cleared up. No cause was determined.
We did the same thing.....bland diet of rice, chicken etc. for Zoe - keep us posted.

you did well to take Zoe to the vet, I did the same thing when my dog had a similar problem a while back, the lethargy had gone away after the first day really, but she'd continued to not eat much and the poops were vile. I didn't see blood I don't think but there was mucus. And she was rotten stinky. Had zero idea of her getting into anything, it just appeared after a walk one day. Vet's likely right that it can take a while for these things to clear up.
They did an x-ray with my pooch because she pulled away when they poked at her belly, especially her bladder (this is not particularly unusual for her), and the resulting x-ray, the vet said she had a particularly "angry" belly, gassy and inflamed and a very sore butt to boot. Even though whatever had made her sick had passed, her little system hadn't recovered so well. Vet prescribed her antibiotics to my recollection, along with medi-cal gastro. She was fine and dandy in no time.

Oh no, poor Zoe. At least she seems to be feeling okay, so hopefully it's nothing serious and clears up soon. I don't have any advice but I am sending you and Zoe some good vibes:
(And I must confess to lmao at the visual of you standing in line with stinky poo )

Thankyou CM, IM, +14 and SCM.
Vet said for now no xrays, her abdomen is soft. Plus she had two solid poops in the two weeks, so the bowel movements are travelling through. He said it could be parasites, bacteria, worms. He also said (and this is were I worry) that it could be parvo, even though she is vaccinated against it, parvo is going around our city in a large scale. And I didn't know this, but dogs even thought they are vaccinated doensnt mean they won't get it, it just means that their bodies have a chance at fighting it off. Yeah I know, I figure vaccination = no chance............. So I will keep you updated, vet appt tomorrow at 10........ Thanks again...... Oh and I am trying to keep happy, the stinky poo in a bag with 7 people waiting in line to pay was hilarious. The receptionist kept saying "ewwww, how come I smell pee?" I kept saying "I have a bag of nasty waiting to be looked at" When I finally made my turn up and plomped the sample down, she said "OHHHHHH yes that is the smell, off to the basement with this, we will call you when we get the results"........I said "well that isn't even as bad as it gets, would you like me to take another tomorrow before I come in?" and she said "NO THIS WILL BE FINE"

I hope Zoe is okay. Maybe her tummy just wasn't used to whatever it was that she ate. Could just be some bacteria from that.
