Biting
My Shiba Inu pup seems to have an issue with biting. Around the house, he'll chew on anything he can get his mouth on. My furniture, computer charger, and shoes seem to be his favorites. He also likes to dig at and chew the carpet, which isn't something I can just take away. I've been saying 'no' sternly when I notice him doing it. Is there a better way to correct or get him to stop?
Also, when we play, he has taken to biting me. He'll bite my arms, legs, clothes, whatever he can get. Is this normal 'play' behavior? In a few weeks we'll be getting tags to the dog park. I'm afraid he will bite other people or other dogs when he plays. Note: It's not a really agressive bite. He doesn't growl when he does it or anything. |

How old was he when you got him?
For biting furniture i would try that bitter apple spray.. And If hes biting, Remove him, dont just tell him NO.. Make him move away from the object. You have to be consistant with your training for it to work. Good Luck!

He was just under 3 months when I got him.
Just now we we were playing and he bit my arm, leaving a insta-bruise and drawing a little bit of blood. So it's not like he's playing around here. I'll definitely have to get that bitter spray. |
