Talking Adorable Gigantic Bunny!!!

Please refer to my other posts for explanation:

I'm pretty sure this rabbit has gotta be 25 lbs.!

As you can see, my nephew absolutely adores him (or her...my SIL refuses to check out the gender situation)

Holy That's one big boy/girl!

If he/she is domestic then I would think domestic bunny food would do him fine until his owners are located. I know with wild bunnies, they love clover leaves/flowers.

Any luck with finding the owners yet?

No luck yet...it's only been a couple hours.

He's eating all kinds of clover in their yard so I suppose he's fine until tomorrow. Clearly he isn't food-deprived!

Will a rabbit drink from a water dish? I've only seen them with those upside-down bottles in their cages...

Rabbits are like dogs and cats...you can train them to do tricks...they can use litter boxes...they can eat and drink out of bowls...they really are quite fun little creatures

A lot of people throw them out though when they stop being the cute little bunny they got at Easter

That certainly is a huge bunny though!

Edit:
I did a quick google search and found this!!! http://www.snopes.com/photos/animals/giantrabbit.asp

Oh beautiful! It looks like a Flemish Giant. Beautiful creatures He should be eating a good quality rabbit pellet (not a pet store variety, a feed store should have a good quality feed), timothy hay & fresh veggies & fruit every day. He sure is gorgeous!

(Remember if you have chinchillas, that rabbits can transfer a deadly disease to them, pasturella, so be sure to have them in completely different air space and wash well/change clothes before going near chins)

My SIL is about 2 hours away from me, so I don't know if I'll actually get to meet the cutie. She's only in a position to keep him a couple days and post flyers looking for an owner, then will have to get him into rescue. I'm just helping her make sure he goes somewhere safe if she has to surrender him, since she's not really an animal person and not sure what to do. I wish my nephews could keep him, but I don't think she likes that idea!

I know! If DH-to-be hadn't instantly vetoed the idea I would be seriously considering it myself.

But he said a few weeks ago he'd be interested in a ferret or chinchilla....I don't see what the difference is, aside from maybe 20 pounds

It's actually funny, because when she first told me about him I said I couldn't consider taking him since Kailey and Chase just killed a bird in the yard two days ago ( birdie), so we probably shouldn't have any pets under 20 lbs. in the house......then I saw his picture!!! I am so in love with this bunny!
