Please do NOT administer any drugs to your animals without consulting a vet! This is very dangerous and potenially deadly!! Please do NOT give him anything that was prescribed to you!! You need to call/visit your vet. You rpooch could have internal injuries, broken bones, etc. Please have him cared for by a professional!

Do you know that depending on where you are, you are probably breaking the law by refusing to get your dog medical treatment? Do you know that is considered "cruelty" under the law??

WHY haven't you taken him to the vet???

If you were seriously injured, would you sit at home and try out your dogs medicine?

I bet you'd get yourself to a doctor, and fast. I'm also guessing you'd take whatever medicine he/she prescribed.

Give your dog the same courtesy, please.

I know it's easy for some people to look for the shortcuts first, but doing so in this case could be a fatal mistake.

Exclamation

TAKE YOR DOG TO THE VET!!!!!!!!! or don't have a dog!

Some human antibiotics are the same. However dosage is according to weight and the strength of the drug depends on how bad the infection. If this antibiotic is not dog friendly, you can kill your dogs liver, thus killing your dog!
If your dog is left untreated and he/she does have an infection....It's system may become septic, resulting in a horrible death!!!!
Leaving you feeling guilty?????

And yes, you ARE breaking the law if your pet needs medical help and you choose not to seek it. If $'s are an issue, call your local Humane Society for #'s of groups in your area that may be able to help you out with the vet exam.

Atleast get an exam to see how serious it is or isn't. You never know, the vet might say that nothing is needed. The only one that can say for sure (and legally) is the veterinarian. Please seek help and don't be selfish about your pets health.

Good luck

Antibiotics are different for all different illnesses if you had strep throat it is not necessarily the same type as if you have an infection in your tooth. Do not give antibiotics that are not specifically for him or her and see your vet. If he was beat up by other dogs you need to speak to these people about covering some of the vet costs and if this was play your dog does not need to play with these dogs again. You never fully explained how he got beat up, you may have some recourse to the other owners. But this dog needs to see a vet.

Sorry if I sound harsh. But use common sense please! and I DO hope that everything works out for you and your dog.

Depending on where you live and your local leash by-laws, there is the possiblity that if the other dogs were "off their leashes" and yours was "on leash" and you could find their owners (long shot)...... You could go to civil court for reimbursment for your vet bills.

If your dog was off leash, you have no legal recourse.
