Apparently I own a....

child killer

A gentleman passing by in his truck, yelled out "Child killer" and pointed at my Jersey.
Angry and hurt before I even knew it I yelled out "Child molester"..
The guy stopped and asked me what I said and so I told him.
He asked why I would say that, and I asked why would you say what you said about my dog?
His reply, because Pitbulls kill children, Pitbulls kill people, and your Pitbull will eventually attack you too!
I said well I called you a Child molester because you are obviously a white male between the age of 22-56 yrs of age, you drive a late model pick up, you are chubby and balding, and according to Profilers you fit the bill. Does that mean that you are a child molester, probably not. Just because my dog is a Pitbull doesn't mean she's vicious and will kill a child or attack anyone for that matter.
The guy suggested he should get out of his truck and kick my butt, to which I replied, "ahhhh I see, not a child molester, but a woman beater!"
Then he sped off.
I know I know I should've just bowed my head and kept walking in the first place, but I get sooooo angry and frustrated when ppl yell out insults towards my dog simply because she is a Pitbull.
Maybe I should just wait until the middle of the night to walk my dogs, then I'm less likely to encounter idiots like this guy, and trust me where I live there are a lot of idiots like this guy....

Normally I would've just swore under my breath and kept walking...but sometimes I just get fed up, trust me I was like as the words were coming outta my mouth. I just reacted, without really thinking about it.
It hurts when someone judges my dogs because of what they are instead of who they are.

Good for you! But you are lucky he didn't get out and thump you one. But then your child killer would probably have had to be a woman beater killer instead. Yup, you got ... balls.

Should have asked him if he wasn't afraid that your "killer" would get him if he got out of the truck.

ROTFLMAO

Way to go!!! I think that was great! LMBO I was wondering why he wanted to get out and smack u when you were with your so called "killer" dog. I loved the child molester comment too! I can never think of good responses when I'm mad, but that was priceless!

Wow that is the BEST response ever!! Good for you for standing your ground and your analogy is 100% correct- how is it fair that people gerenalize about dog breeds being "vicious" when they likely fit the profile of some sort... even though neither are true...

Good for you!! Im sure that idiot will think twice before yelling non-sense out his truck window.. shouldnt he be watching the road anyways!???!! Oye!

People seem to think they can just spew whatever garbage out of their mouths

The story probably changed when he was telling his loser friends though...pitbull started growling at him when he simply stopped his truck to say hello...most fears start out and continue this way

GOOD FOR YOU!!!!

I am presently fostering another pittie and I get this as well - however I have not meet anyone that would call me a child killer....(thankfully).

I commend you for also profiling. Trust me - this guy will think twice about name slinging - he met his match.

Hats off to you - BIG TIME!

*L* Good for you!! wonderful response, I never would have come up with one that fast and probably would have just shaken my fist *L* your response reminds me of this joke, its one of my favorites!! sorry for the thread jack

A couple goes on vacation to a fishing resort in northern Minnesota. The husband likes to fish at the crack of dawn. The wife likes to read.

One morning the husband returns after several hours of fishing and decides to take a short nap. Although she isn't familiar with the lake, the wife decides to take the boat.

She motors out a short distance, anchors, and continues to read her book. Along comes the game warden in his boat. He pulls up alongside her and says,"Good morning, Ma'am, what are you doing?"

"Reading my book," she replies, thinking isn't that obvious?

"You're in a restricted fishing area," he informs her.

"But officer, I'm not fishing. Can't you see that?"

"Yes, but you have all the equipment. I'll have to take you in and write you up."

"If you do that, I'll have to charge you with rape," says the woman.

"But I haven't even touched you," says the game warden.

"That's true, but you do have all the equipment."

MORAL: Never argue with a woman who reads

I'm one of those people who would have gone totally blank with a response, went home, and then spent all night thinking of what I should have said.

Well done!

Good for you! What a jackass to just yell that out! So ignorant and uneducated! You are quick to think on your feet. My response would have been more short ...... F - off! I can't stand people like that. Good for you for standing up for your baby

Nice one... I hope that sparked what few brain cells he has into realizing how ridiculous that comment was! And bravo to you for repeating it and backing yourself up to make sure he got the point! There are so many situations like that that I wish I could come up with a comeback that fast... I always think of great ones after the moment is gone!

That was a great response. I don't blame you for getting angry. First of all, it's none of his business what kind of dog you have and if you have a pit bull, who is he to yell something out at you like that?

He's profiling your dog, yet he didn't appreciate the same being done to him.

I blame the media for the ignorance of the public who most of which are lemmings and believe everything they are told just because they hear it on the news.

Thank you for the kind replies, to be honest I've been thinking about this all day, I'm not sure why I let ppl like this moron get to me. I should be used to the comments directed and discrimination shown to my dogs. Some days I handle it better than others
Of course had he shown any real intention of getting out of his truck to thump me one, I would've grabbed Jersey on the short leash and started running.
This occurred in a playground zone, right infront of our neighborhood arena, there were a few ppl across the street smoking so if I had gotten in trouble I would've yelled to them for help. Altho, I didn't really take his threat seriously, because it was obvious he was afraid of my dog, even tho she made no attempt at being aggressive, even when he was yelling at me. Jersey, yawned and laid down at my feet...yep what a killer!

I know what you mean. Most days I ignore people who tell me I have too many cats or I'm crazy to have so many. But there are days when I think "wth" business is it of anyone else's? Those times I feel compelled to just say something, anything just to keep from exploding. Unfortunately, it winds up really messing my day up.

Yeah I hear you. I play tough on the outside but things like that really bother me too. I know its hard but try not to let one ******* ruin your day. Life is way too short! And your baby loves you

One time I was walking Luke (who is a Boxer) and a lady told me that I should "chain that thing up and not bring it around" I was taken aback and asked her why? She replied "bc your dog is vicious" I think she thought Luke was a Pit just b/c he is brindle funny thing is at that moment I looked at Luke and he was just yawning and sat down and started licking himself Yeah so vicious!
