Strange Night Noises.
Several times over the last month we've been awoken by Skylar making peculiar noises in her sleep. It sounds like the 3 stooges are in bed with us. She makes this high pitched 'wooo wooo wooo wooo wooo' noise over and over until one of us wakes her up. It's definitely not a howl, but it's the most bizarre sound.
I guess she's having some dreams that make her respond with vocalizations. Any guesses? Do any of your dogs make bizzarro noises in the night?

My cats don't make noises, but I've seen them move their paws and hind legs when they are asleep. I think it's just maybe a particularly real dream.
One of my friends who has dogs says her dogs make noises when they sleep too.

Our dogs get pretty vocal in their dreams...but they all deny doing it! It's funny when one gets loud enough to wake the others up. They all stare at the dreamer with that "Well how rude!" look on their sleepy faces. If the dreamer wakes up, he or she finds 7 pairs of eyes staring their direction...to which he or she clearly replies, "Whazzzup?!"

Both of mine do it just about every day. Their feet also twitch and they have happy sleep yelps where I can only guess they're chasing squirrels in their sleep or something. Sometimes they sound really distressed though so I'll reach over and pet them until they calm down a bit. Most of the time they yelp/wimper but I have heard the odd growl as well.
I once caught my in-laws dog digging in her sleep. She was yelping and twitching, then all of a sudden she jumped up, "dug" at the carpet for about 30 seconds, and then flopped back down.

One of our cats makes a sound like a jungle bird on TV. She seems to do it when she's just wakened up and doesn't know where we are. This is touching in the daytime but not at 4:00 in the morning.

Keesha does it occasionally. Sammy does it on a regular basis. Actually, with Sammy it's almost the only time you will ever hear her bark!

Den-Den will sometimes get twitches and start making little quick whimper sounds. I just lay my hand on his neck and start massaging my fingers. After a moment he seems to relax, sighs, and goes into a peaceful sleep. I don't know if he's awakened or not when I put my hand on him. I try not to startle him when I do it.
