Feliway?

Hi, first post here

I'll start by saying that I indeed am a cat fanatic, as well as other pets. I've only owned one dog, he had to be put down last year the day before remembrance day due to being old and sick. We've owned a total of over 16 cats (this was at one time!), and have owned cats on and off.

All cats were outside, and I live on acreage. They slowly get killed off by coyotes, bears maybe, etc. Most of them lived to be at least 8, we had a few lasting 13-15 years outside!

Why I'm posting here though, is I have an inside cat. She's about 8 years old, and has never had any problems peeing inside the kitty litter. Just this last year, my sister had a baby and then the problems started!

She's been peeing outside the box on and off every week ever since, and would like it to be stopped.

Do you think Feliway would work in this situation? She doesn't squat when she pees, and she only pees downstairs on the base of the stairs, and SOMETIMES on the floor. We had to move the kitty litter beside the base of the stairs, so she doesn't really pee on the floor.

First things first Welcome to pets.ca.

2nd thing kitty has seen a vet to rule out any health issues?

Has the spot been cleaned with something to remove the kitty pee?

(Something that will get rid of the enzymes? ie Natures Miracle or something like that? otherwise Kitty will still use that spot.

No, she hasn't seen a vet. She doesn't spray when she pees, she has controll of where she pees which is a sign that she doesn't have a bladder infection.

I use Natures Miracle to clean the spots.
