Hmm, I've seen that picture somewhere else...have I?
Since he's been gone for barely 24 hours, you need to be actively looking for him, especially after dark. He's probably hiding close by, too scared to come out, but if he hears your voice (and maybe carrying some food ), it will give him courage. Also put out something with a familiar smell - an unwashed Tshirt or his own blanket - in a box on the porch. The familiar odour might help to draw him in.
Put up some posters with his picture, check the local pound in case he has been picked up (don't phone, go in person) and talk to your neighbours. If they have garages or sheds, ask them to check that he hasn't gotten trapped somewhere by accident.

You can also leave out Tuna or Salmon. These foods have such a strong oder.
