Icelanders know who's walking who

The first tourist document I pick up when visiting iceland is this nice "Map of Rekjavik" I knew I liked Icelanders right away when I saw this on the Map:

and Estonian's have a different view of cats

Hmm, what comes to mind when you think of a mascot for the "Superseacat" Superfast Ferry boat line...
A tiger or cougar or something of that like??

Nope, in Estonia it's a cute little Persian kitty cat

No prob, that's why I gave the post a little nudge.

I don't know much about animal cruelty laws in either country. I know Estonia has a good SPCA type organization cause I talked to someone about it - she was taking care of a little kitten in the park but was worried cause she was leaving for the winter and couldn't take the kitten with her (she already had 5 cats and her Mom forbid more) so she had made arrangements for the SPCA to take the cat. She spoke very highly of the organization.
Iceland, i'm not to sure about.... Dogs were not allowed to live in Rekjavik until the 1990's (can't remember for sure if it was 1994 or 1998) but now they can but are tightly controlled. Cats are everywhere though. I'm gonna look into it.

Actually there are only two Superseacats (3 & 4)(though don't joke about the other two sinking - there was a very tragic accident in 1994 and hundreds of people died when a ferry from Tallinn sank, though it wasn't a superseacat, just a touchy subject)

I just got a visual of dogs with leashes in their mouths and their people attached at the collars pulling wildly ahead .

Love the blurb on the map & the kitty on the ferry is too cute

Those ferry must really be fast cuz kitty cats don't usually like the water & will get out asap

I remember reading somewhere that there was a big distemper outbreak in Iceland a long time ago so maybe that is why.
