Well I brought him home, but am now thinking it may have been a mistake. I think he will need sub q's again today:sad:. He won't even lift his head he is so sick.

Last night I mixed his vet food (I know not good, but will mix easily with water so I can syringe it in him) with half water. He didn't mind eating at first, but didn't want too much. Did the same for him this morning so he is getting some fluids and nutrition.

No vomit or diarrhea so that is good. Took his temp last night and it was 39.4so just a little high. Didn't bother this morning because he was getting his kitty asprin to bring it down (adevene I think). If it is viral (and I am thinking so), it will take about 3 days to run it's course.

He won't walk except to go to the litter box.

I am going to go home to check on him at lunch. It is about a 40 min drive, but can't stop thinking about him.

I hope you find him a little better. You take such good care of these little ones. It would break your heart if something happened.

sending good vibes to little malcolm for a speedy recovery!

please don't even worry about the "vet food" right now. just focus on getting malcolm well... food can always be changed later down the road when you have your happy and healthy kitty back.

I'm sending some good vibes as well - and since my Silky doesn't need them herself these days, but is actually giving them off along with extra purrs, she'll be happy to help out as well!

Thank you everbody for your well wishes.

Went home at lunch to check on my baby and he was up and walking, very unsteady, but at least up. I gave him some more watered down food, but he wasn't really interested. Matilda kept giving him kisses and wanted him to play, but he wouldn't .

Jasper was laying on the rug and Malcolm just wanted to snuggle him and Jasper let him . Uncle Jasper is the best cat to have with fosters.

Even Sweet Pea allowed Malcolm to rub against her and she didn't hiss, she seems to have a lot of patience with these kittens.

Thanks babymomma.

Puddles on the other hand hissed and growled at him. I have locked her up in the bedroom for the afternoon, Malcolm doesn't need any stress on him right now, not that he has ever minded her hisses, he would just turn away and play with somebody else.

Poor wee Malcolm but it wa a good sign that he was walking a bit. And, it's comforting to know that Uncle Jasper is looking after him while you're not there.

Sending lots of good wishes for a speedy recovery.

More for Malcolm! Sounds like there was at least a little improvement today! That's good!

for a speedy recovery for little Malcolm

Would the clinic location allow you to easily drop him off at the vet in the morning for subqs, pick him up @ lunchtime & drop him off @ home before heading back to work if need be?

Going back to the hosp

Well he only gets better when he is on his adevene ??, he is not getting any better. I think he is worse.

He can't poop, a small drop comes out, he lays down and pants. I am having my doubts he will make it.

He is not dehydrated, I have been force feeding him with 50% water, 50% vet food. Unfortunately that means he doesn't get very many calories and is loosing so much weight, his spine is starting to show:sad:. I have been coming home on my lunch to feed him, but it takes two hours.

I think I will try mixing kitten wellness to see if I can syringe that, I just can't feed him that vet food anymore.

OMG, he just lies there staring straight ahead, it is breaking my heart, I get so attached to my fosters

awwww I know ...really I know how u feel as Ive been in a similar situation many years ago...its just that much harder to see them struggle/be in pain when youve cared so much for them and got so attached.

All you can do now is hope and pray that things will look up...ure doing ure best

Come on lill Malcolm, hang in there

aaaaw poor little guy, i think the switch back to wellness is a good idea, it's what his tummy is used to. The vet food is crap and is probably not helping his little tummy. I might be wrong but i think somewhere on here dr.lee suggested gatorade to keep him hydrated.
